Please, PRE-NOTIFY your arrival into Malta, following these steps:

1. Check the requirements (file: PET TRAVEL SCHEME Leaflet.pdf) in English or German.

Fill in the application form (file: Application form for Pets and tracking sheet V5.doc) with the information of your ARRIVAL in MALTA and send the form back to petstravel.mrra@gov.mt

Application sent to different addresses won't be processed.

2. If dog, treat the dog against tapeworms with a Praziquantel based product from 5 to 1 day before the arrival in Malta. This treatment has to be certified by a vet in the passport of the dog or in the Official Veterinary Health Certificate.

3. We will book an officer following the information provided by the tracking sheet (page 2 of the application) that will wait for you at the arrivals and proceed for the inspection.

4. If any delay in your travel occurs, please call (24/7) or send a SMS 00356 9917 0532 providing NAME, SURNAME, FLIGHT/SHIP N., DAY and TIME of arrival.

Please follow Part 1 of the information leaflet if your dogs/cats/ferrets are coming from EU and NON EU-APPROVED countries: titration test is not anymore required.

If your dogs/cats/ferrets are flying as CARGO from a third country, please read also CUSTOMS procedures and related files "CUST" (contact airfreight.customs@gov.mt  for any query).

The process to authorize your pet to travel will last 2-3 days. Please pre-notify your arrival to us in time.

The applications are processed only from Monday to Friday.
